Walter Goldsmith

Walter Goldsmith has over 20 years of public finance experience serving clients on debt related matters. He joined First Tryon in 2014 to help build the firm’s financial advisory practice. Walter’s experience includes working directly with clients in a variety of sectors, including local government, K-12 education, higher education, healthcare and not-for-profit. Prior to joining First Tryon, Walter worked in the public finance departments of Davenport & Company LLC and First Southwest Company (now Hilltop Securities).

Walter is a graduate of Clemson University. He is a Registered Representative of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and holds both the Municipal Advisor Representative license (Series 50) and the Municipal Advisor Principal license (Series 54).  While previously working for a broker-dealer firm, he was a Registered Representative of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and held the following licenses:  General Securities Representative (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63), General Securities Principal (Series 24), and Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50).
