John Lynch

Managing Director

John Lynch joined First Tryon Advisors in 2025 and has over 28 years of experience serving non-profit clients in a variety of banking capacities with primary focus on tax-exempt and taxable financings. His activities with First Tryon will focus on further development of the Firm’s practice within the independent school, charter school and higher education sectors. Prior to joining First Tryon, John served as the head of Truist Bank’s Education Industry Specialty Group for 8 Years. Prior to that role, John spent 22 years at Bank of America in various roles serving the not-for-profit sectors mentioned above and was in public accounting specializing in taxation at the start of his career.

John is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University (BA Accounting and International Business) and holds his CPA license in the State of North Carolina (currently inactive). He formerly held the Series 7 and 63 licenses. John is working toward becoming a Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50).
