Mr. Woodward provides financial advisory services to clients in Georgia. In his role as a public finance banker, Mr. Woodward assists issuers with a wide range of services including the development of long term capital planning models, evaluating debt capacity, structuring bond issues, monitoring refunding/restructuring opportunities, obtaining credit ratings, and coordinating the debt issuance process.
Prior to joining First Tryon Securities, Mr. Woodward worked in the public finance departments of Stifel, BB&T Capital Markets and Sterne, Agee & Leach serving both as underwriter and municipal advisor to governmental and not-for-profit issuers throughout Georgia and the Southeast. Most recently, Mr. Woodward served as the Chief Financial Officer for Thermaldyne, LLC, a solid waste renewable energy company that treats and recycles the hazardous waste generated by refineries when converting crude oil to refined petro products. While at Thermaldyne, Mr. Woodward raised $17,500,000 of equity, a $9,750,000 bank loan, and $5,000,000 of subordinate debt for the company. The funding proceeds are being used to equip and build a solid waste treatment and recycling facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Mr. Woodward holds an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and is a Registered Representative of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and maintains his General Securities Representative License (Series 7), Municipal Advisor Representative License (Series 50), Municipal Principal License (Series 53) and Uniform Securities Agent License (Series 63).
