For more than 35 years, Mr. Ubell has been a trusted advisor to local governments, universities, nonprofits and financial institutions in a variety of corporate and public finance transactions. Before joining First Tryon Advisors, he was with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP where he served as bond counsel, special counsel, bank counsel and underwriter’s counsel on transactions throughout the Southeast.
A frequent lecturer on public finance issues, Mr. Ubell is recognized for his work on taxable municipal issues, risk management funding, and pension funding. He has been at the forefront in developing governmental responses to the SEC requirements for municipal securities.
Mr. Ubell received his JD with honors from the University of Michigan in 1969 and his AB from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1967. He is a Registered Representative of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and maintains his Municipal Advisor Representative License (Series 50).
