The municipal sales and trading practice of First Tryon Securities, LLC was established in November 2003. Currently five team members with average experience of 24 years provide professional execution and information dissemination to a large group of institutional clients. First Tryon trades proprietarily on a daily basis in the secondary municipal market. Working closely with institutional investors our knowledge of current trends, preferred product, and desired structure in the market place allow us to be a valuable contact to investors looking to capture best execution in an ever changing secondary market place. Our client base includes bond funds, investment managers, and trust investors. Our product expertise is both regional and national in scope and the firm is a market maker in both odd lot and institutional block size.

Manager: James L. McCoy, Jr.

Mr. McCoy joined First Tryon Securities, LLC in 2003. He has 38 years of experience in Fixed Income sales, trading, and executive management. Mr. McCoy started his career at a large regional bank in fixed income sales advancing to the position of Vice President and Southeastern Area Sales Manager. He further pursued his career as an officer and partner in a regional fixed income sales and trading firm and upon its sale to a large regional fixed income and brokerage firm was appointed Investment Limited Partner. After joining a top 5 financial services firm he was Managing Director of the Municipal Securities Group in the Corporate and Investment bank responsible for sales, trading, risk management and public finance. He was also a member of the Fixed Income Management Committee. At First Tryon, Mr. McCoy is responsible for the management and growth of the municipal institutional effort and business development of the tax exempt sector of the Firm.
